Atlanta Hawks Giving Back to The Giving Kitchen

The NBA season has started and our Atlanta Hawks are giving back to an amazing charity on November 20 when they host the Detroit Pistons at Philips Arena. The Atlanta Hawks will be donating $5 for every ticket sold to the game to The Giving Kitchen founded by Ryan Hidinger.

Hawks Give Back

If you don’t know Ryan’s story, Ryan was diagnosed with Stage IV gallbladder cancer last December at the age of 36. This past January, with just 3 weeks of planning, the restaurant community banded together to host an event called Team Hidi to raise money for Ryan’s alternative treatments. The event raised close to $300,000 and really became a testament to the restaurant community in Atlanta. From that support, Ryan and his wife Jen recently started The Giving Kitchen, a nonprofit that will raise funds to help other restaurant personnel going through hardships. Ryan also plans to open his own restaurant, Staplehouse, next February in the Old Fourth Ward.

The Atlanta Hawks are honoring Ryan Hidinger as a Be Greater recipient during the November 20 game vs. Detroit. You can purchase tickets here.
